| Yuufyaw, is far more complex than [[Kinaso]]. The phonetics of the language is based on the natural sounds made by the chromatic, which are not unlike that of a raccoon (barks, yammers, meows, clicks, growls etc…). This makes the language very hard to speak and decipher by other races. The name Yuufyaw itself is onomatopoeia for the sound that the chromatic make when referring to their language. The written form of Yuufyaw consists roughly 96 base letters, and over 70% of them indicate pitch and tone of voice, while the rest indicate other sounds such as clicks of the tongue, snarls, snorts, and hisses. Because of the importance of pitch and tone of voice in Yuufyaw, the conversations of chromatic are often mistaken for strange songs and howls by those not native to the island or yet familiar with the chromatic. The spell ‘Speak with Animals’ is not effective when directed at the Chromatic, but very experienced druids are more likely to pick up on the language than others.
